Combustion Diagnostic System (CDS)
The Combustion Diagnostic System provide our customers a means to reduce the time required to provide a thorough and repeatable test of their combustion system from hours to minutes.
CDS - 2 Enclosure Version
The Combustion Diagnostic System platform provides automated testing of numerous Combustion System components in a properly equipped system to confirm they are operating per specification and record the test results for further analysis.
The Testing Apparatus will consist of two portable "briefcase type" enclosures.  One enclosure will house the electrical, logic and man / machine interface device and the other will contain the pressure pump, solenoids, pressure and flow transducer(s).  The Testing Apparatus will connect to the suitably equipped Pipe Train via one (1 ea.) electrical connector equipped with an umbilical and several plug equipped Sample Hoses.  The two cases will then be interconnected by additional an additional electrical umbilical.cord.
Each Pipe Train will be equipped with Pipe Train and Plant IdentityCodes that are communicated to the logic device over the electrical umbilical cord.  This code will identify which testing protocol is to be executed and be associated with the record of results of all testing along with the time and date.  The device will be operable by one individual and will not require an electrician to install temporary jumpers to perform the various tests.  The system provides both real time display and storage of data.  There are three user programmable levels of performance evaluation performed and annunciated as each component is tested.
They include:
1. Test Passed
2. Warning Alarm - Component is out of the ideal performance band.
3.
Critical Alarm - Component should be repaired, adjusted or replaced.

Data is stored along with the PipeTrain and Plant IdentityCodes and may be downloaded to a suitably equipped PC for further analysi

Components Tested

Diagnostics

Units connection to the system under going test is evaluated to determine if there are any leaks that would compromise the accuracy of the testing.  Zero and Calibrate internal sensors.

Fuel Shutoff Valves

(Valves that are tested may include Main Shutoff Valve, Main Blocking Valve, Main Vent Valve, Main Pilot Valve, Blocking Pilot ValveandVent Pilot Valve.)
   1. Measure the leakage rate using the most effective means.
   2.Opening timing
   3.Closing timing
   4.Operation of all auxiliary switches

User determined preprogrammed threshold Alarms alert the operator if any measure parameters require operator attention.  All data is recorded for further analysis.

Voltage

Measure the potential between Hot and Neutral (VAC),  Hot and Ground (VAC),Neutral and Ground (VAC).User determined preprogrammed threshold Alarms alert the operator if any measure parameters require operator attention.  All data is recorded for further analysis.

Pressure Switch Performance
1.Measure the trip point (rising for High Gas Pressure Switch and falling for Low Gas
      Pressure Switch)
   2. Evaluate the operation of all defined contacts.
   3. Provide the operator opportunity to adjust and re-test the pressure switch.  The original and
final trip points are recorded.  User determined pre-programmed threshold.  Alarms alert the
operator if any measure parameters require operator attention.  All data is recorded for further
      analysis.
ON / OFF Devices
Measure an operator initiated change of state for a variety of discrete components including High Temperature Limits, Flow Switches, Damper Limits, Low / High Water Levels, etc.Operators are prompted to trip each any defined on/off device.  Switch function is recorded and if a device will not operate as expected, operator can "fail" the test from the interface.User determined preprogrammed threshold Alarms alert the operator if any measure parameters require operator attention.  All data is recorded for further analysis.
Modulating Valve Position
Drive modulating valve to the full open and full closed position.  If a full open and / or full closed position switch is defined, determine if it is operating correctly.User determined preprogrammed threshold Alarms alert the operator if any measure parameters require operator attention. All data is recorded for further analysis.
Valve Proving System (Version 3)
Check the performance of the Valve Proving System, if defined.User determined preprogrammed threshold Alarms alert the operator if any measured parameters require operator attention.  All data is recorded for further analysis.
